Highlighting women empowerment and healing, Urduja led Paghilom, Pagbangon: Women’s Month 2026 through three events and initiatives at the Ateneo Professional Schools.

Urduja, AHRC’s Women and Gender Desk, began the celebration through #UNSCRIPTED: A Film-Centered Roundtable Discussion on Women’s Reproductive Rights and Autonomy. The panel was composed of filmmakers Lian Laya and Charlie Vitug, queer human rights advocate Anna Raphaela Cubacub, and Office of Solicitor General’s Atty. Patricia Anne Sta. Maria as they centered their conversations on Antoinette Jadaone’s 2024 film, Sunshine.

Legal practitioners and public servants from the Department of Justice Action Center shared insights on legal frameworks and institutional responses to gender-based violence through a talk entitled “When Violence Evolves.” The discussion emphasized evolving legal protections, available remedies, and continuing initiatives to ensure that justice systems are more inclusive, accessible, and responsive to the needs of women and other vulnerable groups.

Brands including Lola Tita de Cacao and Binurdahan were also invited to #HERStory Women’s Month Pop-Up Stores as part of the celebration.
