Families of Duterte’s drug war victims gathered on Friday night for a meaningful conversation with the Common Legal Representatives of Victims (CLRV) from The Hague, Netherlands. Present in the online interaction were Joel Butuyan, Gilbert Andres, Nicolene Arcaina, and Paolina Massidda, who took the time to speak with the families and hear their sentiments shortly after the adjournment of the confirmation of charges hearing.
While the confirmation hearing does not determine the guilt or innocence of Duterte, the brief moment renewed the families’ hope of finally achieving the long-awaited justice and accountability for the death of their loved ones, nearly a decade after the former president began his bloody drug war.
