The Ateneo Human Rights Center (AHRC), in partnership with Save the Children Philippines, embarked on an initiative entitled “Building a Child-Friendly ASEAN” in 2017. One of the project’s components is to promote Children’s Rights and Business Principles (CRBP) in the Philippines and within the ASEAN region. During the project period 2017-2019, AHRC embarked on a series of activities to raise the awareness of both the private sector and government on CRBP and create opportunities for collaboration to bring in CRBP into their respective practices concretely, such as awareness-raising seminars and trainings on children’s rights and CRBP.

Currently, AHRC is in partnership with the Department of Education, Department of Labor and Employment and Employer’s Confederation of the Philippines to provide an enabling policy environment for CRBP. These partnerships are aimed at strengthening the capacity of both business and government stakeholders in integrating CRBP into their policies, standards, and practices. It also aims at having a policy issuance from the government that will require the business to integrate CRBP into their practices.
