Ateneo hosts forum on victims’ participation, Duterte’s ICC case

The Fr. Joaquin G. Bernas, SJ Institute for Continuing Legal Education, in partnership with the Ateneo Human Rights Center, organized “Bending Toward Justice: A Forum on the ICC, the Duterte Case, and Victim Participation” on March 31, 2026 at the Ateneo Professional Schools, Makati City.

The panel featured Atty. Gilbert Andres, Common Legal Representative for the Victims (CLRV); Atty. Colene Arcaina, Case Manager for the CLRV; Dr. Aurora Parong, Co-Chairperson of the Philippine Coalition for the International Criminal Court (PCICC); and Mary Anne Baybay, Support and Intervention Officer of the Philippine Human Rights Information Center (PhilRights).

The forum provided a venue to discuss international law and the processes of the International Criminal Court (ICC), as well as the importance of victims’ participation in the case against former President Rodrigo Duterte.
